David O'Brien

David O’Brien is a Past President and Chairman of the Board of Braintree Cooperative Bank. He currently serves as a Director, Trustee and Corporator at South Shore Bank. Dave has been an active community banker for over 50 years; over 40 years serving the South Shore.

Dave’s personal motivator can be found in a Robert Kennedy quote. “The purpose of life is to contribute in some way to making things better”. Service, in Dave O’Brien’s mind is a good thing.  He has enjoyed his many years trying to make things better through numerous boards and civic and philanthropic organizations.

I have viewed my years in community banking the same way. I have always believed that a banker’s work experience should go beyond self and embrace/capture the opportunity to reflect the best version of our clients. Community Bankers engage our customers emotionally, empowering both consumers and businesses to financially live better.  The Bank is their partner.  Building that bond with the client is like being a good neighbor; sharing success.
