Margaret K. Spagone

Margaret Spagone (Peg) was elected to serve as a corporator of South Weymouth Savings Bank in 1991.  Her affiliation continued in 1997 when South Weymouth Savings Bank and Weymouth Bank merged and became South Shore Bank and Peg became a member of the Board of Trustees.

In April 2006, Peg was elected as the first woman in the Bank’s history to serve on the Board of Directors.

Professionally, Peg is President and CEO of East Bridgewater Insurance Agency, Inc.  She is past President and Director of the East Bridgewater Business Association.  She has served on the Board of Governance for the Old Colony YMCA and was a Trustee for the Goddard Health Foundation.  Peg also served as Vice Chair of the East Bridgewater Zoning Board of Appeals for over a decade.

During her tenure with South Shore Bank, Peg has served on the Compensation, Loan Approval, Foundation and Community Reinvestment Act Committees.  

On a personal note, Peg is married to former East Bridgewater Selectman, Town Moderator and Veteran’s Agent, Peter Spagone, Sr. and they have four grown children.  Peter, Jr. is the Chief Business Development Officer for East Bridgewater Insurance Agency, Michelle Lessard is the owner/director of Michelle’s Studio of Dance, Dr. Gina Williams is the Assistant Superintendent of East Bridgewater Public Schools, and Jill Rodgers is Senior Vice President for TJX Company.  She is also has nine grandchildren.
